Our Story
A small bench, a long horizon.
We started with one wallet that refused to wear out.
Letharo Leather began in a two-bench workshop, cutting bridle hide for friends who wanted something that would outlast the season. Word travelled the way it does with good leather — slowly, then all at once.
Today we make wallets, belts, jackets, bags and gloves in the same way: limited runs, full-grain hides, and finishing done by the same hands that cut the panels. Nothing is rushed to a deadline, and nothing ships until it has been checked twice.
We would rather make one piece you keep for twenty years than twenty you replace each year. That's the whole philosophy.

The Hide
We buy full-grain vegetable-tanned hides in small lots and reject anything that won't patina cleanly.

The Cut
Panels are cut by hand so the grain runs true across every seam and edge.

The Finish
Edges are burnished and waxed in layers, then the piece rests before it ever leaves the bench.
The Workshop
Made by people, not machines alone.
Every Letharo piece passes through a handful of hands. Skiving, stitching, burnishing and conditioning are still done at the bench, because those are the steps you feel years later — in how a belt drapes, how a wallet folds, how a jacket takes the shape of you.
